# Making Bitcoin Finance a Reality
Solv Protocol is tackling Bitcoin’s challenges head-on. It’s building an on-chain Bitcoin reserve that lets holders do more with their BTC—turning idle assets into active financial tools.

### Borrowing
Users can access liquidity without selling their Bitcoin. By depositing BTC into Solv, users can borrow stablecoins or other assets, preserving their BTC exposure while unlocking usable capital.
### Collateralization
BTC deposited into Solv can serve as collateral across integrated DeFi protocols, allowing users to engage in lending, trading, and other decentralized financial operations.
### Yield Generation
Solv offers multiple yield strategies, including lending markets, liquidity provisioning to AMM pools, and participation in structured staking programs. These mechanisms allow users to earn sustainable, passive returns on their BTC holdings.
## Active Bitcoin Reserves
As of December 15th, 2024, over **11,611 BTC** are actively staked in SolvBTC.LSTs, generating yields and creating value for holders while maintaining liquidity.
**10,688 BTC** are deployed across leading decentralized applications (dApps) and ecosystems, such as Ethereum, Bitcoin Mainnet, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Avalanche, and more.
